Patio laying process with Bluestone Landscaping

Ground clearance & preparation
Firstly we will remove all debris, old patio, slabs and vegetation. Any necessary soil excavation and major levelling will occur in this stage. Adequate preparation is of great importance - at Bluestone Landscaping we never cut corners.

Sub-base installation
Next we lay a base of MOT (crushed aggregate) which is compacted to ensure that the base is solid yet water-permeable. The base is made perfectly level, including the apropriate run-off gradient, ensuring water is directed to new or existing drainage. This will mean that water never pools on your patio, and is directed away from your house.

Slab Laying
Finally the patio slabs or paving blocks are neatly laid on a bed of 50mm cement. After the necessary drying time has passed the paved area is washed and prepared for pointing. Aswell as traditional cement joints, we also use resin based jointing compound, which suits the Pembrokeshire climate and can be laid in the rain.
